At Citizens for Safer Consumer Products (CSCP), we aim to protect consumers from harmful chemicals such as phthalates, lead, and arsenic found in everyday products. Under California Proposition 65, we work to ensure manufacturers provide warnings about significant exposure to toxic substances, helping to make products safer for all Californians.
What is Proposition 65?

California's Proposition 65 mandates that businesses warn consumers about products containing chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals, including phthalates, are commonly found in:
Clothing tags and logos
Children’s toys
Packaging materials
Home goods
CSCP uses Prop 65 to hold manufacturers accountable for failing to disclose harmful chemicals in their products.

How it works
Step 1.
Submit a product with proof of purchase (receipt).
Step 2.
We analyze the product for phthalates, lead, arsenic, or other Prop 65-listed chemicals.
Step 3.
If your submission results in a successful detection of the prohibited, you’ll receive $250 in compensation!
